Grey Pearl and Imaginability at their match meeting
Every year Spark presents the Spark Outstanding Pro Bono Award at the Volunteer Manitoba Volunteer Awards Gala. We look forward to this day every year because it gives us a chance to recognize some of our volunteers and the impact their pro bono work has on the community, as well as celebrate volunteerism in Manitoba.
Today we are profiling Grey Pearl Interior Design and their work with Imaginability!
ImagineAbility is a non-profit organization that supports adults living with a disability, both through work and recreation, all with the aim of empowering people to realize their potential and enjoy meaningful relationships.
In 2025, Spark matched ImagineAbility with the Interior Designers at Grey Pearl, Amber Bauman and Amelia Karchut. Grey Pearl is a local design firm that specializes in commercial, residential, and clinical design projects.
The goal of the project was to reimagine ImagineAbility’s formerly industrial space at 436 William Avenue to better serve the many program activities that happen every day at ImaginAbility.
“Grey Pearl’s team were amazing!” said Imaginability Executive Director, Audra Penner. “They were creative and collaborative and significantly advanced the work well beyond our initial expectations. They were terrific in managing diverse perspectives and input from all the parties involved.”
In the end, “Grey Pearl designed a welcoming, quieter space with good flow, kept the space open, while also creating designated spaces for the many activities that happen each day including exercise, arts and crafts, as well as comfortable spaces for relaxing and socializing. The resulting concept is warm, inviting, and lovely.”
Thanks to Grey Pearl, Imaginability now has complete project plans, including drawings, color selections, and flooring details, which are now ready for the build to begin this year.
