Lasha Gelnnie at Welcome Place

The Volunteer Manitoba Awards are less than one month away!  They are going to look a little different this year but make sure to tune into Facebook Live on November 18th to join in on celebrating volunteerism in Manitoba.

Today we are profiling nominee Lasha Glennie!

Lasha has been nominated for the 2020 Spark Outstanding Pro Bono Consultant Award for developing a social media strategy for MIIC/Welcome Place.

Lasha has been a Spark volunteer since 2018.

Manitoba Interfaith Immigration Council/Welcome Place welcomes and provides settlement services for refugees and immigrants living in Manitoba. They support equitable treatment of all persons and embrace cross-cultural differences.

“Lasha brought with her a wealth of experience and information in the social media and communications sector. She worked with us one on one to help develop a short and long term strategy for our social media engagement,” says Casey Challes.  “Some of her recommendations helped us to enhance our fundraising capacity.”

Congratulations on your nomination, Lasha! Thank you for volunteering your skills to a community organization that helps families get settled and thrive.
